Whether you are a member, volunteer, staff member or program participant, we are thinking of you and your family’s well-being.  Taking care of one another and our community is so important now.

Your thoughtfulness and kindness during this time reminds us of how our community comes together during times of crisis to support each other.  People like Mike who shared this message:

“Please transfer my fee to support the Y dinner program.  Thank you for providing this service during a time when so many are hurting.”

Your membership provides needed services for you and the community.  These services continue even as the Y building is temporarily closed to the public.

-Continue your fitness journey with YMCA 360 and MOSSA Moves and share daily fitness tips on social media. Nutrition tips and recipes provided can help you to rediscover how to create tasty family dinners with ingredients you already have at home.

-Expand our dinner program to families from the after-school dinner program.  We are currently serving more than 1,800 dinners weekly through our drive through grab-and-go dinners at the Y weekdays from 4-5pm and Eminence School on Wednesdays from 10am-noon.  Second Helpings is arranging the preparation and delivery of the meals served.

-Coaching for budgeting and employment services. Our Community Needs Coordinator has been providing coaching in creating resumes, interviewing and budgeting since the beginning of 2017, but these services are more critical now.

-Outreach to seniors and students has kept our membership and after-school staff busy.  We continue to provide STEM activities and literacy opportunities to the students we have been working with this school year.  From pre-school through middle school ages, our staff reach out to more than 120 students weekly with learning opportunities and just to let them know we care about them.  Our membership staff contacts our Silver Sneakers members to make certain they are aware of the online activities we are offering and to make certain they have access to groceries and prescriptions; we refer them to the CICOA help line when needed.

Have you followed our Y on Facebook@BBJYMCA.org and seen the repairs and updates our staff are making during the temporary closure?

Please Stay with Us and keep your membership active to continue to offer these services to you and our community.  If you are unable to do so, we understand and remain available to help.  Please choose from among the options below so we may serve your wishes.
